Passengers' Travels Department at Bulgarian State Railways makes profits in 2013

Passengers' Travels Department at the Bulgarian State Railways made profits estimated at around BGN 3.5 million in 2013. Dimitar Dimitrov, head of the Passengers' Travels Department at the Bulgarian State Railways, announced the news in an interview for FOCUS News Agency.

 

He said when he had taken over management of the company, it had been confronted with serious issues. Mr. Dimitrov also added the company had managed to pay back loans at the amount of BGN 50 million in a short period of four months. He remarked the company also had had to deal with an insufficient number of carriages and locomotives. Dimitar Dimitrov also said the Passengers' Travels Department at the Bulgarian State Railways intended to resume some international passenger train services such as the Sofia – Thessaloniki route.
