IBA’s Executive Director - Stamen Yanev participated in the Bulgarian-French business seminar in Paris

On 15/04/2015 d in the French capital, was held a business forum with topic "The Bulgarian market: opportunities for investment and business". The seminar, organized by the French Agency Business France, along with the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky attended representatives of leading French and Bulgarian companies and institutions, including InvestBulgaria Agency.

 

"Bulgaria and its rich cultural heritage of yesterday are respected in the Louvre, and let our economic ties to deepen" said in the opening of the seminar, the Secretary of State for European Affairs of France Mr. Harlem Désir. "In Bulgaria are already known French brands like Oxylane Group, Schneider Electric, Total, Carrefour, Accor chain. But I must admit that Bulgaria is still unknown market for French partners", he added. According to him, our country is a strategic junction in the EU and this is an advantage for French companies in the country.

 

The focus of the event, which was attended by the Executive Director of IBA Stamen Yanev, was placed on the rich political, cultural and historical ties between Bulgaria and France, as well as on their fruitful trade and economic cooperation. As factors to strengthen these commercial relationships and attract new investments to the country, Minister Loukarsky marked the financial and macroeconomic stability in Bulgaria.

 

The sectors in which our country has competitive advantages and could attract investment interest are electronics, information technology, outsourcing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, mechanical engineering, transport and logistics, agriculture, tourism and health. On attracting investment by the French in home the attractive sectors are energy, water management and waste infrastructure construction, food industry and in particular organic farming, wine industry, pharmaceuticals, tourism, information and communication technologies and others.

 

Carrying out initiatives such as the Paris forum, help the business relations between the two countries, building dialogue between the business community and public institutions such as the InvestBulgaria Agency, Ministry of Economy and others. According to Mr. Désir the Bulgarian investors are welcome in France and the French could seek new opportunities for development and expansion of its presence in Bulgaria.
