Opening of Leoni's new plant in Pleven

Today, September 27, 2018, the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Investment Agency, Stamen Yanev, took part in the official opening ceremony of the cable and car installations plant, part of the German company Leoni in the town of Pleven. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov, Deputy Minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov, Mayor of Pleven Georg Spartanski, representatives of the senior management of the company and others.

For Leoni's investment, Bulgaria competes with Serbia, Ukraine and Macedonia. The amount of the investment is 32 million Euros. the company will open more than 2,000 jobs. The company is expected to open 7 new plants around the world. "The Investment Agency has done its best to attract the investment. Since the beginning of this year there have been approved 15 investment projects under the Investment Encouragement Act worth nearly BGN 700 mln. and more than 1300 new jobs are expected to be uncovered, 56 projects worth more than 1 billion for over 4500 new jobs are under certification, "Emil Karanikolov, Minister of Economy, said. For the Leoni group, over 86,000 people work in 31 countries. They have over 90 factories all over the world.
