Series Of Events, Promoting The Investement Advantages Of Bulgaria, Was Launched With A Round Table In Paris

On the 29th of November, at “Four Season George V” Hotel in Paris was held the first of a series of international events, promoting the investment advantages of Bulgaria, with the purpose of attracting direct foreign investments in the country. The event was organized by the InvestBulgaria Agency, in cooperation with the global business media “Financial Times”, with the financial support of Operational Programme “Development of the Competitiveness of Bulgarian Economy”.

The event in Paris gathered together leading representatives of the business, representatives of the Bulgarian Government, as well as leading companies, currently doing business in Bulgaria. The dinner was held under the format of a round table with panel discussions and active debates on different crucial topics, related to the investment intentions of the business leaders and the competitive advantages of Bulgaria as investment destination. The discussion was focused on the discussion of few key sectors in the country – Information and Communication Technology (ICT); Transport Equipment and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO); Food, Beverage and Tobacco.

The Government, represented by Mr. Stoyan Mavrodiev /Chairman of Financial Supervision Commission/, His Excellency Mr. Marin Raykov /Bulgarian Ambassador to France/ and Mr. Borislav Stefanov /Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency/, welcomed the guests and presented the investment advantages of the country – strategic geographic location, stable political and economic environment , competitive tax policy.

Representatives of companies, investing and doing business in Bulgaria, presented the first hand view on the working conditions and the development perspectives of the country.

 

 

Among the participants in the panel discussion were the Executive Director of “Danon Bulgaria” – Mr. Renaud Chamonal, the Commercial Officer of France to Bulgaria Mr. Philippe Chatignoux, the Chairman of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Stephane Delahaye, the Executive Director of “Vivacom” Mr. Bernard Moscheni and Mr. Nicolas Trean, Executive Director of “Aurubis Bulgaria”.

“The truth is that the moving force of Bulgarian business are the people, who make things happen. My hopes are that Bulgaria will become a hub for French investments and all prerequisites for that are available”, explained the Chairman of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Stephane Delahaye. His opinion on Bulgaria was supported  by Mr. Chamonal, the Executive Director of “Danon Bulgaria”, who said that in fact the history of Bulgaria has always been filled with challenges and that’s why the people of the country have become very active, always searching for and finding solutions. And that is a fundamental factor for the business. “Bulgarian economy is one true European economy”, reassured the French Commercial Officer for Bulgaria, Mr. Chatignoux. Later on, the commentaries of the panel discussion participants were focused on the real life experience in Bulgarian business environment and the opportunities, which were turned into successful business model. Mr. Moscheni, Executive Director of “Vivacom”, and Mr. Trean, Executive Director of “Aurubis”, focused on the qualifications of the employees in the country, who acquire European education and work under international standards, which contributes for the competitive advantages of the business in Bulgaria.

The event was attended by more than 30 delegates, top business leaders from various sectors, who facilitated the lively and insightful discussion on the topics.
