Bulgaria's Dental Services Continue Attracting Greeks

September 24, 2013

Residents of the northern Greek city of Xanthi are increasingly crossing the border with Bulgaria in search of cheap, quality dental services.

The average price for dental fillings in Bulgaria ranges between EUR 15-20, informs the Greek daily Imerisia. These are mostly patients without covered health insurance, explaines the president of the Greek dentists union Andras Pandazopolous.

According to the chairman of the Dentists Association in Bulgaria Dr. Ventsislav Stoev, the global economic crisis provides a great opportunity for the country to further develop the big potential of its dental tourism.

Greek dental tourism is so popular that clinics in Petrich have already written their working hours in both Bulgarian and Greek. It is mainly working class Greeks who come to Bulgaria; some of them also speak the language.
